  • The photographs are AI-generated illustrations, not photos of real homes or paintings.
  • You're welcome to share links and quote short excerpts with credit. Please don't copy whole articles or images.
  • The Site is provided "as is."

1. General information only

The articles on the Site share general tips about caring for houseplants, based on personal experience and publicly available sources. Plants, homes and climates vary, and results are never guaranteed. The content is not a substitute for advice from a qualified horticulturist, veterinarian, physician or other professional. Use your own judgment and follow the instructions on any product you use, such as fertilizers or pest treatments.

We try to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we can't promise that every article is complete, current or error-free.

2. Plants, pets and children

Some common houseplants are toxic to people, cats or dogs if chewed or swallowed, and even "non-toxic" plants can cause stomach upset. When we mention whether a plant is considered safe for pets, we refer to the ASPCA's list of toxic and non-toxic plants, which may change. Always check current sources and keep plants out of reach of pets and young children.

In an emergency: if you think a pet has eaten a toxic plant, contact your veterinarian or the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435 (a fee may apply). If you think a person has, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222 (United States). If someone has trouble breathing or is unconscious, call 911.

The photographs on the Site and in our Facebook posts are illustrations created with generative AI for these articles. They are not photographs of a real home, studio, person or painting, and they may not show every plant detail with botanical accuracy. Use the written articles, not the images, for plant identification and care.

The text, images, logo, design and other content on the Site belong to The Kind Window or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-commercial permission to view and print the content for your own use.

BECAUSE THE SITE IS FREE, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO US$50.
