Indoor heating can push humidity down to 20–30%, while many tropical plants are happiest around 40–60%. Crispy edges on ferns and calatheas are usually the first sign.

  1. A small humidifier near your plants. By far the most effective option.
  2. Grouping plants together. Each one releases a little moisture, and the group shares it.
  3. A pebble tray with water. It helps a bit, right around the pot.
  4. Misting. It feels nice, but the effect only lasts minutes.

Also keep plants away from heat vents and radiators. That hot, dry air is hard on leaves.
