Painters chase light. So do plants.
Artists have loved north-facing windows for centuries. The light stays soft and steady all day, with no harsh sun sweeping across the work.
Many houseplants feel the same way. Pothos, ferns, prayer plants and calatheas are happy in that gentle, indirect light: bright enough to read by, never strong enough to scorch a leaf.
That's the idea behind these notes: what I've learned about keeping plants happy indoors, from light and water to the winter slowdown and a few myths worth letting go of.
